Adventure in Amsterdam

Hup Holland Hup!
Just spotted: Angeli in Amsterdam with her friends from back home celebrating Natalie's birthday! What better place to celebrate than Amsterdam? Not  to mention that Holland was playing Denmark in the Euro! It did not take Angeli too long to catch the spirit- she bought a jersey and orange shades to blend right in with the natives! The group of 8 stayed in a hostel and enjoyed late night walks in the crazy city.
Angeli and Camila near a beautiful building
Although Angeli was enjoying Brussels, she did not realize how much she missed her friends until she spent the entire weekend with them. They went to coffee-shops, the red light district, and the Van Gogh museum. It was a beautiful city, Angeli thought. Each block was separated by a mass of water and the architecture reflected on the mirror of the rivers. Boat houses lined the edges of the rivers as though it were an extension of land. The land of tulips was crowded with shops upon shops of tulip bulbs of colors Angeli had not even imagined. The Gothic structure of buildings and train stations added a splash of history to the city. Angeli wondered how Amsterdam must have been almost a hundred years ago.
Rocking the F in Amsterdam
The city had a variety of foods and this was what excited Angeli the most. She did not have to worry about finding a restaurant that would have food for vegetarians. Camila and Angeli were in love with a vegetarian falafel shop that had the tastiest food they'd had in a while. While on long walks, Angeli would buy french fries and share them with the group. They contributed their warmth in the cool nights of Amsterdam.

Angeli was pleased to have visited the Van Gogh museum although it was slightly depressing. She could have spent hours and hours there and found something fascinating about each painting. She found her favorite painting by him: Farmhouse. She bought post cards for her family and friends back home and hoped to come back someday to finish reading about each and every one of Van Gogh's paintings.
Birthday girl and Angeli
Each day in Europe was an adventure and she knew this. Time was flying and now in a week, Angeli would be in Paris. She was still not over Amsterdam, though. Who knew that in just 2 and a half days, Angeli would miss the city so much! While her upcoming week was her last in Brussels (until the end of June), she was excited to see her friends again this coming Saturday and hoped that another adventure waited restlessly for them!
